Celebrating its
eleventh anniversary this
spring, India On The Hudson is located in the Uptown
section of Hoboken and is on our first Indian restaurant in
town. Our concept for India On The Hudson was simple: Demystify
Indian food. To make Indian food less intimidating we
created an elegant atmosphere that is comfortable, inviting
and clean. Our rich gold and green palette, embroidered Indian
brocades and colorful Indian folk art create a luxurious
environment. Our moderately priced menu and warm friendly
service further enhance our concept by making us more
approachable. In essence what we are doing is serving
authentically prepared North Indian cuisine that is well
priced and professionally served in elegant yet casual
surroundings
Along
with a Daily Lunch Buffet and our optional Monday and Tuesday
night Buffets, our A-la-Carte menu features Tandoori
Specialties that include succulent, chicken, lamb, and seafood
entrees as well as a vast array of breads freshly baked to
order in our “Tandoor” or Indian clay oven. We also
feature a large selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian
entrees prepared in a variety of mildly spiced sauces.
In addition to our daily lunch and dinner
service we also offer seasonal outdoor seating, take out and
delivery services. From our location in Hoboken we presently
deliver to our customers from Weehawken, Guttenberg, Secaucus,
West New York, and North Bergen in the north, to Union City,
Jersey City, Newport and Exchange Place in the south. In
addition to our regular clients we also maintain several
corporate house accounts. Our list of corporate clients
includes USA Networks, Sapient, DLJ Direct, Knight Security,
Jersey City Medical Canter, NYK Lines and Inautix.
We are a Full Service Catering
establishment having handled diverse events varying from
intimate gatherings for 10-20 people, to corporate events for
50-100 all the way to large functions for 800-1000 people. We
are the exclusive caterers for Stevens Institute of
Technology’s Bi-annual Indian Association Event, which
numbers from 500 to 1000 people.
Historically we have had much success. In
addition to being warmly received by our patrons we have
always had critical acclaim. The New York Times rated
us “Good” and described us as a “trimly
attractive restaurant” where “the space is given a
stylish lift with good lighting, tapestry upholstered
banquettes and woven silk hangings”. Our Zagat
rating is “Good - Very Good”. The Hoboken
Reporter calls us ”urban and sophisticated” and
says our service is “courteous and attentive”. The
Bergen Record describes our food as “tasty and
reasonably priced” and “guaranteed to wake up every
taste bud”.
